IEEE Silicon Valley Blockchain Group
- Mission:
- There is considerable development activity in the discipline of Blockchain technology (crypto-currencies, NFTs, registries, etc). Our Group gathers all of these application areas under one chapter as a focus for our Silicon Valley/Bay Area technologists on the theory, algorithms, applications, and energy implications. Our monthly meetings and other events are a place for Blockchain experts and novices to gather to learn more about this disruptive technology. We publicize co-sponsored events and educational opportunities organized by the IEEE Blockchain Technical Community and other Blockchain LGs. We use IEEE ListServ and eNotice, as well as social media, to communicate with those participants wishing to associate with our thrust.

- Main Activities:
- This Local Group (chapter) conducts monthly meetings with guest speakers for in-person and Web-based events, plus networking gatherings. It may organize workshops and symposia, often with other participating IEEE chapters and outside organizations.
