The IEEE EV Innovations Chapter is committed to fostering innovation, research excellence, and knowledge exchange in the rapidly evolving field of Electric Vehicles (EVs). Our mission is to: • Advance cutting-edge technologies in electric vehicle systems, including power electronics, battery technologies, electric drivetrains, smart charging infrastructures, and autonomous mobility. • Promote interdisciplinary collaboration between academia, industry, government, and entrepreneurs to drive the development of next-generation EV solutions. • Encourage innovation and research through technical events, workshops, seminars, and project-based learning for students, researchers, and practicing engineers. • Support sustainable mobility goals by advocating for clean energy adoption, eco-friendly transportation, and the reduction of carbon emissions through electrification. • Equip future leaders with the technical skills, innovative thinking, and leadership capabilities necessary to transform the global transportation landscape. Through these initiatives, the IEEE EV Innovations Chapter aims to ignite creativity, accelerate technological breakthroughs, and shape a smarter, sustainable future for electric mobility.

Main Activities:
Technical Knowledge Sharing • Expert Talks & Guest Lectures Invite leading researchers, engineers, and industry experts to speak on topics like EV design, battery management systems, EV infrastructure, smart grid integration, and autonomous EVs. • Technical Workshops Hands-on sessions on EV simulation tools (like MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS), battery pack design, motor control, fast charging systems, AI in EVs, etc. • Seminars/Webinars Series Regular sessions discussing latest trends such as solid-state batteries, wireless charging, energy harvesting, and future EV policies. Innovation and Research Focus • Student Innovation Competitions Host competitions like "Build Your EV Prototype", "Battery Management Hackathon", or "Design a Charging Network Challenge". • Project Incubation Support Help students and early-career researchers initiate real-world EV-based projects (mini EVs, solar EVs, smart charging systems) and showcase them. • Research Paper Discussions Organize sessions where participants review and discuss the latest research papers on EV technologies. Practical Exposure • Industrial Visits Tours to EV manufacturing plants, battery assembly units, or research centers involved in electric mobility. • Hands-On Practical Courses Short-term certification courses on electric motor controllers, battery testing, embedded systems for EVs, etc. • Live Demonstrations EV retrofitting demo (converting petrol bikes to electric), EV maintenance practices, charging system setups. Awareness and Outreach • Green Mobility Awareness Campaigns Promote the benefits of electric vehicles among students, schools, and local communities. • Panel Discussions on EV Policies Host dialogues between policymakers, researchers, and industry on EV adoption barriers, incentives, and regulations. • Collaborations with Startups Partner with local EV startups for joint projects, internships, and knowledge sharing. 🏆 Professional Development • IEEE Certification Programs Offer short courses and certifications under IEEE’s professional development umbrella for skills like EV system design or EV entrepreneurship. • Annual Symposium / EV Tech Fest Conduct a flagship event annually where students showcase projects, listen to keynote speakers, and network with professionals. • Mentorship Programs Pair students with faculty or industry mentors working in electric vehicle research and development.
