IEEE Türkiye Aviation Technologies & Systems Local Group
- Mission:
- The mission of the IEEE Türkiye Aviation Technologies & Systems Local Group is to establish a national platform for interaction and collaboration among engineers, researchers, and professionals working in the development, integration, and certification of modern aviation systems. The Group aims to build connections between academia, industry, and regulatory bodies; share current developments in aircraft technologies and systems-of-systems engineering through technical events and hands-on activities; and bridge theory with practice. By supporting professional development, encouraging innovation, and aligning with global best practices, the Group seeks to create a strong network among aviation stakeholders in Türkiye and contribute to the growth of a sustainable technical ecosystem.
- Time Horizon:
- Two Years
- Main Activities:
- Main Activities The activities of the IEEE Türkiye Aviation Technologies & Systems Local Group are designed to enhance technical knowledge exchange in the field of aviation in Türkiye, strengthen professional networks, and contribute to the development of a sustainable technical collaboration ecosystem. 1. Technical Seminars and Webinar Series Regular seminars and webinars will be organized with the participation of experts from industry, academia, and regulatory bodies. Topics will include aircraft systems, avionics, propulsion, actuation, certification processes, digital engineering approaches such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), as well as electrical system verification, EMI/EMC compliance, and environmental qualification practices. Purpose: To disseminate current technical advancements and support continuous professional development across the aviation system lifecycle. 2. Hands-on Workshops and Training Sessions Practical events will be conducted on system safety analyses (FHA, FTA, FMEA), requirements engineering, verification and validation planning, system architecture, and integration. Purpose: To strengthen industry-relevant technical competencies and promote advanced engineering practices. 3. Panel Events on Trends and Regulation Multi-stakeholder panels will be organized on emerging topics such as electric and hydrogen-powered aircraft, urban air mobility, autonomous systems, sustainability, and certification challenges. Purpose: To foster strategic awareness and bring together diverse interdisciplinary perspectives. 4. Networking and Community Events Post-seminar gatherings, technical discussion meetings, and virtual networking events will be organized. Purpose: To build a strong, sustainable, and interactive national professional network. 5. Career and Professional Development Activities Events focusing on aviation career pathways, certification-oriented roles, skill development, and CV review sessions will be conducted. Purpose: To support participants’ professional growth and strengthen their engagement with the aviation sector. 6. Joint Activities To reflect the interdisciplinary nature of aviation, collaborative events will be organized with other IEEE groups. Purpose: To broaden technical scope, enhance cross disciplinary collaboration, and attract wider participation.
