IEEE Colombia Entrepreneurship Group
- Mission:
- To promote and strengthen the culture of technological entrepreneurship and innovation within the IEEE community in Colombia by fostering the development of business skills, leadership, and solutions with social and economic impact. The group will coordinate efforts with Young Professionals (YP) and other IEEE affinity groups to build a collaborative ecosystem that connects students, young professionals, academia, and industry. This initiative will facilitate mentorship, networking, and knowledge transfer, while enhancing the Colombian entrepreneurial ecosystem through training, visibility, and support for emerging initiatives that contribute to sustainable growth and national competitiveness. During the first year of operation of the IEEE Entrepreneurship Local Group – Colombia, an activity plan will be implemented focused on raising awareness of the group and strengthening the entrepreneurial culture within the IEEE community, in coordination with Young Professionals (YP). The activities will aim to generate educational, inspirational, and visibility impact, while optimizing available resources.

- Main Activities:
- 1. Inspirational Talk with Engineering or Technology Entrepreneurs A talk will be organized featuring a successful entrepreneur in the engineering or technology sector who will share their experience, challenges, and key learnings. This activity aims to inspire students and young professionals to develop innovative initiatives. Expected date: First week of April. 2. Technical Workshop on Entrepreneurship A training workshop will be conducted focusing on practical tools such as business model development, idea validation, value proposition design, and investor pitching, strengthening key skills for building technology-based startups. Expected date: First week of May. 3. WIE–YP Podcast on Leadership and Entrepreneurship An episode will be produced in collaboration with WIE, featuring a leading female entrepreneur from the innovation ecosystem. This initiative will promote female participation in STEM and strengthen the group’s digital presence. Expected date: July 2026. 4. Entrepreneurship and Innovation Fair An exhibition space will be organized during the IEEE RNR Colombia event to showcase emerging startups and projects, promoting visibility, networking, and connections with potential strategic partners. Expected date: August 2026.
