- Mission:
- To bring together students, professionals, industry partners, and communities to co-create affordable assistive technologies through interdisciplinary collaboration, human-centered design, and inclusive innovation practices. SIG ATI aims to design, prototype, validate, and deploy scalable solutions that improve independence, dignity, and participation for persons with disabilities and neurodivergent individuals while fostering entrepreneurship and workforce development.

- • Regional designathons and makethons focused on assistive technology • Training workshops on inclusive design, SHIFT methodology, and ethical innovation • Co-creation sessions with persons with disabilities and rehabilitation professionals • Development, testing, and deployment of low-cost assistive prototypes • Accessibility audits across campuses, workplaces, and public spaces • Community exhibitions, open houses, and awareness programs • Entrepreneurship training and startup incubation support • Creation of open-source repositories and knowledge resources
