IEEE Bombay Section AI for All Group
- Mission:
- The IEEE Bombay Local Group on AI for All will be established to serve IEEE members, potential members, and other professionals in the Bombay area who are interested in AI, machine learning, and data science. The Local Group will provide a forum for members to network, share knowledge, organize technical activities, and promote IEEE in the region. It will operate in cooperation with the Bombay Section to advance technology and engineering in interdisciplinary domains related to AI and its applications. The Local Group aims to attract new members to IEEE, especially students, young professionals, and those with interdisciplinary interests aligned with AI. It will collaborate with local academic institutions, industries, and other organizations to further the IEEE mission at the grassroots level in Bombay. The Local Group will abide by IEEE rules and operate transparently under the oversight of the Bombay Section.

- Main Activities:
- Potential main activities for the IEEE Bombay Local Group on AI for All: Host regular meetings, talks, and workshops to discuss advances and challenges in AI, machine learning, and data science. Invite experts from industry, academia, and government to share insights. Organize hands-on sessions, hackathons, and competitions for members to gain practical experience with AI tools and techniques. Facilitate networking and mentorship. Run an AI book/paper reading club for members to stay up-to-date on latest research and breakthroughs. Partner with student branches and local universities to offer training, mentorship, project guidance and other opportunities to student members. Promote IEEE membership and activities related to AI at local colleges and companies. Reach out to professionals from interdisciplinary backgrounds. Maintain a website and social media channels to disseminate information about AI events, research, and news relevant to members. Represent IEEE at major local AI conferences, summits, and technology events. Initiate joint activities with other professional chapters in the region also working on AI applications. Publish tutorials, webinars, newsletters to raise awareness about the impacts of AI on society. Collaborate with NGOs and public sector on workshops or hackathons to explore AI for social good.
